Scala InfoChannel Overview
Multimedia Management Software

Schedule and broadcast multimedia content to your own TV station or network of dynamic signs.

InfoChannel Network Manager 3 is a server based application that schedules the transmissions of multimedia content to hundreds, even thousands of display monitors (plasmas, TVs, kiosks) from a single desktop. Advertising, news, training or virtually any other visual communication can be easily distributed to InfoChannel Players via any standard network. Content created using InfoChannel Designer 3 or Reporter 3 is automatically routed to the intended players.

SCALBLE, FLEXIBLE NETWORK MANAGEMENT

Network Manager 3 is available in two versions. One is designed for television stations and small to medium size networks. An Enterprise Edition is also available for larger networks and is expandable to satellite and multicast broadcasting with InfoChannel Broadcast Server 3.

KEY FEATURES

  • Easy to use server based software.
  • Player management and content transmission via FTP or UNC.
  • Content can be stored on independent sites.
  • Players can be instructed to send or receive content or individual files.
  • Transmissions can be scheduled or triggered by updates in content.
  • Remote player administration allows control of files, clock, reboot, etc.
  • Network monitoring shows the status of your InfoChannel Players.

ENTERPRISE VERSION

Additional features of the Enterprise version include :

  • Access InfoChannel Network Manager 3 via the Internet from any PC using a web browser.
  • Players can be grouped according to criteria: geography, demographics, sales, etc.
  • User accounts have passwords and access levels
  • View-only and view/modify modes support multiple concurrent users.
  • Expandable to satellite and multicast transmission with InfoChannel Broadcast Server 3.

IC3 NETWORKING

  • Use your existing IT infrastructure such as Dialup/LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi or terrestrial broadband technology such as DSL or cable modems. Thinking big? InfoChannel works just as well within a Satellite/IP Multicast environment (with the optional InfoChannel Broadcast Server 3) which can accommodate a potentially unlimited number of player locations.

CENTRALISED ADMINISTRATION

InfoChannel Network Manager uses jobs to transmit commands to either individual remote sites or groups (available with Enterprise Edition). Jobs can update content, reboot systems, and even upgrade Player software for those subscribed to the Scala Service Plan.
